Landscaping and lawn care in Salt Lake City

Leaf removal, weekly mowing, sprinkler blowouts and yard work for homes on Salt Lake City’s east side, from the Avenues down to Sugar House. Our crew is based here, so most of the east side is a short drive away.

East-side yards, and what they need

The east side’s older neighborhoods are a big part of why fall is our busiest season. The city describes District 6 as historic neighborhoods under a canopy of big, old trees, and city data from 2014 found the Avenues, East Bench and Sugar House had about twice the tree canopy of the west-side planning areas combined. That shade is great in July. In November it means a lot of leaves.

The homes are older too. Yalecrest has about 1,400 homes, many of them Tudors and bungalows, and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2007. The Avenues were built mostly between 1880 and 1920 on the lower slopes of the Wasatch, so steep lots and old walls are common there. Older yards usually come with older sprinkler systems, which is why a careful blowout matters before the first hard freeze. Salt Lake City’s average first freeze falls around October 20.

We cover the whole year: weekly mowing in summer, aeration and overseeding in early fall, leaf removal and blowouts as the trees drop, and snow removal in winter.

Salt Lake City questions

Do you work in every part of Salt Lake City?

Our routes cover the east side, from the Avenues and Federal Heights down through the East Bench, Yalecrest and Sugar House. Elsewhere in the city, text us your address and we’ll tell you if you’re on a route.

Can leaves go in my Salt Lake City compost cart?

Yes. Leaves go in the brown compost cart, and the city will drop off a temporary extra cart for free. If you’d rather not deal with it, our leaf removal hauls the leaves away.

How soon do I have to clear my sidewalk after it snows?

Salt Lake City requires sidewalks to be cleared within 24 hours after the snow stops (City Code 14.20.070). Our snow removal can handle it for you.
